2 of Swords
Detachment and denial are two major themes of this card. It’s a quasi-double-edged sword. Regarding detachment: a protective stance—if rigid enough—can easily turn into missed opportunities and ostracism. Sometimes it is necessary to cut yourself off from external influences, but you should not become so remote that you are no longer approachable or even likable for that matter. The denial aspect of this card is about refusing to see the truth when it is slapping you in the face. When you choose to not pay attention to a pressing issue in the present, you often end up paying much more in the future.
