Uranus in Taurus – The End of the World–As We Know It.

riot

I try not to give into fear by remaining rational and level-headed, but this upcoming ingress of Uranus into Taurus has me very concerned. This is because Taurus represents peace, normalcy, finances, food, nature, values and standards. Uranus is about upheaval, rebellion, chaos, sudden upsets, destruction, tyranny, sudden change, and perversion. Uranus also deals with groups of people, social causes, and activism. Uranus is considered to be in the “Fall” when in Taurus. A sign that places a planet in the “Fall”, is not a healthy placement for it. Uranus will first ingress into Taurus on May 16, 2018. The 16th is a day of catastrophe so I’m curious to see how Uranus will get things started.

I pulled a Tarot Card to represent the theme of Uranus in Taurus and it was the 5 of Swords. The 5 of Swords is one of the most troublesome cards of the Tarot Deck. It is ascribed to Venus in Aquarius and it denotes conflict, treachery, betrayal, rebellion, uprising, theft, hate, vindictiveness and artifice. What’s interesting and downright spooky is that Venus rules Taurus and Uranus rules Aquarius so the 5 of Swords is on point. It is not a card that is conducive to harmonious relationships and for the well-being of humanity. The 5 of Swords only confirms my suspicions about Uranus’ entry into the sign of the Bull. This card also proves that I am not just being paranoid nor am I giving in to irrational fear.

So let me just cut to the chase with some bullet points regarding the possible ways in which Uranus in Taurus will manifest:

  • Rebellion against convention and all that is natural. The abnormal becomes normalized. Chaos replaces order. Upheavals.
  • A major change/shift in global economic conditions—for the worse. Economic insecurity.
  • Tyranny—especially economic and ecological. A cashless system could be implemented. Money becomes totally electronic.
  • Microchip implants will become more of the norm.
  • GMO foods will become even more the norm.
  • Perversion will reach an all-time high due to the erosion of values and standards.
  • The lines between Right and Wrong will be blurred.
  • Public nudity and other forms of indecency/deviant behavior will become more socially acceptable.
  • The battle between the sexes will reach an all-time high.
  • Racial tension will reach a crescendo; A race or civil war is possible.
  • Riots and social uprisings.
  • Being under total surveillance.
  • Air travel could be heavily restricted in some areas due to civil unrest or war.
  • People will develop more of a mob mentality.
  • The perversion or devaluation of the Arts. Ugliness will be considered to be Beauty.
  • An increase in natural disasters, crazy weather, mega storms, droughts.
  • The weather will become totally manufactured (Geoengineering programs have been in place for many years now, but NASA claims that it will own the weather by 2025 http://csat.au.af.mil/2025/volume3/vol3ch15.pdf)

I don’t mean to be all about gloom and doom, but I am also a realist and I can’t ignore this destructive energy that is imminent. We will need more faith and inner peace than ever to get through these sour times that are on the horizon.

On the bright side, enlightenment will increase and people will gain more access to creative powers that are not of this Earth. Uranus in Taurus will usher in some state-of-the-art designs that have yet to enter our realm of human experience. There will also be an increase in entrepreneurs as Uranus enters Taurus since Uranus = Independence. This is also a very good time for Astrologers (also meta-physicians in general) since Uranus is the planet that rules Astrology and with Taurus representing money, but also realism, Astrology will be given more legitimacy. Taurus also represents advisors and with Uranus in Taurus, many people will be seeking answers that cannot be satisfied through conventional means. More people will consider becoming an Astrologer as a viable career option.

Afrika Bambaataa’s Natal Chart – Does He Have What It Takes?

afrika-bambaataa

Afrika Bambaataa, one of the pioneers of hip hop is currently facing allegations of child molestation that allegedly occurred during his hey day back in the late 70’s and early 80’s. Ronald Savage among others, has alleged that Bambaataa sexually molested him when he was a young teen. As a result of this scandal that has plagued the hip hop community, but even more so Afrika Bambaataa’s Zulu Nation, I am going to analyze his natal chart to see if there are any indications or tendencies that would corroborate the accounts of his alleged victims.

Note: I do not know his time of birth and it has not been verified despite the claims by some that he is a Sagittarius rising. As a result, I will only discuss his planetary aspects and forgo discussing the house positions or Ascendant.

Afrika Bambaataa was born on April 17, 1957 which would make him an Aries with a strong organizational mindset since the number 17 breaks down to 8 and the number 8 deals with business and materialism in general. 8 is the number of Saturn and with it comes heavy karma. It’s interesting to note that Afrika Bambaataa is experiencing his 2nd Saturn Return. Saturn Returns occur approximately every 29 years and they usually herald very challenging circumstances. Saturn Returns in a spiritual sense can result in having to pay down some karmic debt. This is exactly what is happening with Bambaataa right now during his Saturn Return. When people are ill-prepared for their Saturn Return period, it is often a very humbling experience. Saturn also deals with reputation and when Saturn returns to its natal position, one’s reputation may be in jeopardy. Recently, Bambaataa issued this official statement in response to the allegations made against him:

I, Afrika Bambaataa, want to take this opportunity at the advice of my legal counsel to personally deny any and all allegations of any type of sexual molestation of anyone,” Bambaataa says in a statement to Rolling Stone. “These allegations are baseless and are a cowardly attempt to tarnish my reputation and legacy in hip-hop at this time. This negligent attack on my character will not stop me from continuing my battle and standing up against the violence in our communities, the violence in the nation and the violence worldwide.

The number 17 is softer than the single number 8, but the energy of Saturn is still present. With 17, one may be very artistic, fond of music, dance, filmmaking, pageantry, etc and create a livelihood out of it. However 17, mainly because of the number 7 can also deal with having a secret life or deceptive tendencies. It is easy to put up a charade. Usually, 17 is never totally upfront about his true intentions. There may be a hidden agenda or ulterior motives at work.

Now, looking into Afrika Bambaataa’s chart there are some indicators that point to the tendency for sexual predation. Some of the main indicators are challenging aspects between his Sun, Moon, Venus, Saturn, and Neptune. With the Sun being joined to Venus in Aries, Bambaataa has a natural affinity for music and entertainment, but also males since Aries is the most virile and masculine of the signs. Aries also deals with youth, thus he has a natural affinity or even attraction for young men. There have been rumors circulating within the hip hop community for years regarding Bambaataa’s homosexuality.  Sun in conjunction to Venus also deals with his flamboyant identity (think about his Soul Sonic Force days where he wore elaborate costumes and tights) and his penchant for unity. The whole “Peace, Unity, Love, and Having Fun” song was a testament to this. However, Venus in Aries is more about self-love than true love for others. With this Venus-Sun combo, Bambaataa was able to gain a lot of praise, adoration, and devotees throughout his rise to fame.

Now, this Venus/Sun conjunction is in pretty bad shape. This coupling is plagued by a hard aspect from the planet Neptune. Neptune is in opposition to his Sun and Venus which points to a very secretive or even deceptive nature. It is akin to living a lie. There’s much about Bambaataa’s life that he tries to keep hidden; Neptune being the planet of lies, deception and that which is kept under wraps. Neptune is in Scorpio, the sign of taboo activity and sexual bonds. Basically, this aspect enabled Afrika Bambaataa to lure boys into his circle by his message of Love, Peace, Unity, etc. With Neptune, he basically provided asylum for these youths, but at the same time it was a trap and they became easy prey.

The Sun and Venus are also in challenging aspect to his Moon and Saturn in Sagittarius. There’s a sesquisquare between these two cosmic couples and this can point to Bambaataa’s godfather or mentor/role model position and his ability to funnel boys into his organization for his own personal benefit. Saturn in conjunction to the Moon can make one very opportunistic as a result of a fear-based mindset. On a benign level Saturn joined with the Moon can point to one who lacked a childhood, proper nurturing, and possibly a mother’s love during the formative years. It can also point to strife within the home and having to take on the role of a parent as a child. As a result of Bambaataa’s difficult upbringing, he tries to create his own ideal family circle and legacy, hence the Zulu Nation, but with the challenge from the Sun and Venus in Aries, this family/legacy is dysfunctional and it echoes the kind of family dynamic that could be prone to incest. Often with Sun conjunct Venus, the native does not see others as distinct individuals–they are mere extensions of himself. When a person lacks the ability to respect others as individuals, it is very easy to impede upon their rights.

Afrika Bambaataa’s Sun and Venus are in square to Uranus and this can point to an alternative lifestyle, being eccentric or being ultra-progressive. On the negative end it can result in tendencies toward perversion and deviant behavior. This aspect points to his activist bent and the forming of the Zulu Nation, but since it’s a square, his intentions are not totally pure.

Bambaataa’s Moon/Saturn combo is in challenging aspect to Neptune. As I stated previously, Neptune is about lies and deception, but it is also about victimization. Bambaataa’s opportunistic personality and his status as a father-figure/mentor could result in the victimization of others through sex (Neptune in Scorpio). His Moon and Saturn are in Sagittarius and Sag deals with his international acclaim, his philosophy, belief system and god-like status. Saturn with the Moon can also cause him to lack the ability to relate to others on a personal level. He may actually believe he is a god in the flesh and this would give him justification to commit the grievous acts against those who put their trust and faith in him if these allegations are true. He is viewed as some sort of savior, but with this aspect he’s more of a cult leader.

The Zulu Nation founder has a hard aspect between Moon/Saturn and Mars. It’s an opposition in fact so this deals with an external struggle that is inherent within his life. This external struggle can point to him taking advantage of his mentorship/godfather position in the form of preying upon young men. Mars is in Gemini and Gemini deals with youth. Mars deals with males. Gemini can deal with being two-faced or having a second agenda. Due to issues regarding his father (as evident with challenging aspects to the Sun and Saturn, plus Saturn retrograde), Bambaataa has a need to feed on male energy to overcompensate for his lack of a male role model. Perhaps, Bambaataa’s own father had homosexual tendencies and struggled with his manhood. With Mars opposition Saturn alone, most likely his father was not around or was incapable of teaching him how to be a man. This combination between the Moon, Saturn and Mars can also cause him to not be able to respond to women sexually. This aspect can possibly point to Bambaataa being sexually abused or molested by a woman or mother figure in his early life. This could have turned him off from women and caused him to become very untrusting of them. Afrika definitely has serious issues with women and as a result he seeks love from men.

A few more indicators are present in Bambaataa’s chart–namely a semisquare between Mars and Uranus. This challenging aspect can deal with deviant sexual tendencies and perverse desires. It also deals with craving absolute power over those who join his organization. Now, the semisquare is very patient in meting out karma so it could take many years before one’s transgressions are exposed when done under this aspect.

He has a square between Mercury in Taurus and Chiron in Aquarius. This is a tight square that can deal with having a reprobate mind. A person with this aspect doesn’t feel that the rules should apply to them. They want to be the exception to the rule. With Chiron being in Aquarius, it gives him cult-leader tendencies as well as the tendency for perverse thoughts when in challenging aspect to Mercury. Mercury in Taurus makes him very much interested in music, but also beauty and sensuality. Taurus is also about values. When in square to Chiron, he may not be upholding the same values that he espouses.

Bambaataa has Mars square Jupiter which could make him very hypocritical, shady, and calculating. This aspect also causes one to be prone to excess, to not look before they leap, and to be sort of like a pied-piper–preying upon youth. Mars square Jupiter can also deal with rumors and gossip being spread about him, legal charges brought up against him, bribery, and even blackmail.

In terms of key asteroids, he has a contra-parallel between Hebe and Venus. This can point to an inappropriate relationship with young males since Hebe deals with youth. Negative aspects between Hebe and Venus or Mars for that matter, can indicate the propensity for pedophilia and child molestation.

Finally, I looked into Afrika Bambaataa’s spiritual evolution profile which can be gleaned from the examination of the Moon’s Nodes. Bambaataa’s South Node is in Taurus which puts his North Node in Scorpio. As a result, Bambaataa is an extremely sensual person who is prone to hyper-indulgence since the Nodes are at 21 degrees. In past lives, Bambaataa may have been indulgent, but he toed the line, he lived according to the values of society and he upheld the status quo. In this current incarnation, Afrika Bambaataa is called to live a more dynamic, transformative, and deeply meaningful existence through the North Node in Scorpio. He is to collaborate with others, create synergy and live life more on the edge. In the course of trying to evolve spiritually, Bambaataa has gone to the extreme left. He does embody a lot of the positive traits of the Scorpio Node, however, he has also adopted some of the most negative traits of Scorpio which is engaging in taboo/criminal behavior, being manipulative, cunning, obsessive/compulsive, and hyper-sexual. His Mars in Gemini forms a challenging aspect (quincunx) to his North Node–his sexual drives prevent him from evolving in the appropriate manner.

In conclusion, Afrika Bambaataa certainly has what it takes with respect to the allegations of child molestation. The thing is, Bambaataa has been given some protection via the planet Pluto (Venus/Sun trine Pluto, Neptune sextile Pluto) and this has enabled him to operate under the radar for many years. However, with this Saturn Return that he is experiencing, the indomitable power of Pluto can’t even shield him from the shit storm that has darkened his doorstep. After analyzing his natal, I believe these allegations are true.

Saturn in Sagittarius has a way of dethroning kings because it cares not about false pretenses; Saturn in Sagittarius is about truth reigning supreme–especially with respect to organizations and systems. Afrika Bambaataa’s god-like status is no more. That’s the power of Saturn in Sag. Transiting Saturn will land on his natal Saturn again on May 24th so he’s still in the thick of it. More details or allegations may come out around that time.

Venus in Sagittarius: The Sequined Goddess of Love

joan-smalls-vogue-may-2012

Venus has now entered Sagittarius so it’s now time for her to do it up big. Venus in Sagittarius is forever in search of ideal conditions, albeit she’s not as anal as Venus in Virgo or as uncompromising as Venus in Pisces. If it’s the best however, Venus in Sag wants it. For Venus in Sagittarius it’s not so much about the monetary value of things as it is the quality and exclusivity. If this fiery Venus can snag an expensive item at half off because it was not favored by the masses, she feels like a winner. Venus in Sagittarius does not long for that which is ubiquitous, she wants the exotic, the rare, and the highly cherished. Sacred items can run the gamut from a prized medieval steel dagger to  a one-of-a kind purple 1972 Stingray Corvette. Oh yes, Venus in Sagittarius will not shy away from sports cars and sports in general come naturally to her.

When it comes to relationships it’s best that you give this girl plenty of space. She may be a bit awkward when it comes to outward displays of affection, but she’s a tiger in the bedroom. Venus in Sag may not be into PDA, but behind closed doors her unbridled animal nature takes over. Venus in Sagittarius may have had many of lovers from Texas to Tibet, but she’s searching for the ideal and when she finds this special someone she will be more than happy to settle down for eternity. As long as Venus in Sagittarius has the freedom to be herself and space to grow (knocking things over in the process–clumsy Sag) she will be faithful. She has so much love to give so you better be ready to give as much in return. Venus in Sagittarius may blindly rush into a relationship or marriage over mere sexual chemistry only to wake up a few days later plotting on how they will make her exit.

Believe it or not, Venus in Sagittarius has a high degree of morals and an unwavering sense of decency when it comes to her public life. She makes one helluva an attorney and an honest politician–if Venus is not afflicted by planets such as Pluto and Neptune. Venus in Sagittarius is lucky in matters of love and money. This is the type of woman who gets married a few months before her soulmate hits the Powerball Jackpot.  Her partner surprises her with expensive, yet meaningful gifts such as a vacation in Bali or a chef’s table dinner at a 5-star restaurant. Venus in Sagittarius just doesn’t receive however, she gives–a lot. Venus in Sag is very generous and when wealthy, can be quite the humble philanthropist.

In terms of fashion and personal style, Venus in Sagittarius likes to stand out in a crowd. Venus in Sag loves colorful patterns, unique prints, and multi-cultural ensembles. Every time a fashion fad emerges that takes from a foreign influence like the 60’s Nehru jacket or those Chinese shoes from the 70’s it is Venus in Sagittarius at work. While being no stranger to extravagance, Venus in Sagittarius is just as likely to venture into a thrift shop as they are Nordstrom in an attempt to find clothing  which allows her to express what she views as her avant garde sensibilities. Of all the signs, Venus in Sagittarius (Leo coming  in at a close second) is the most mortified by showing up to a party and seeing someone with the same outfit. She sees herself as a goddess so how dare a mere mortal copy her style. Venus in Sagittarius is attracted to sequins, leathers, furs, and silks. She is one of the few who can pull off looks such as leather sweatpants that just wouldn’t make sense if others were to wear it. Venus in Sag loves a fine cashmere sweater, but her carelessness or lack of attention to detail, may result in its quick demise as she mindlessly tosses it in the washing machine.  She’s into exotic and foreign artwork and if she’s an artist her work will have a Universal appeal.

Sagittarius: Freewheeling via Purposeful Free-Willing

centaur_by_perzo-d4sb472

Since we are at the final day of Sagittarius, I thought I’d better do a write up about the fiery archer, the sign that I was born under (Dec 5th). In true Sagittarian fashion, I have procrastinated to the very end when it came to writing this post, but today I just couldn’t let this season pass without representing my sign, the 9th sign of the zodiac. The 3rd and final fire sign that represents freedom, growth, expansion, higher education, philosophy, spirituality, religion, the law, wealth, abundance, generosity, faith, optimism, and aspirations. Sagittarius rules long-range travel and exotic locales. It upholds truth, ethics, and morality.

I love being a Sagittarius even with all of its flaws (namely procrastination, recklessness, irresponsibility, excess, wantonness, and insensitivity). Of course as an archer my end goal is freedom. When freedom is coupled with a healthy dose of responsibility and discipline what you get is essentially Freewheeling via purposeful Free-Willing–what it truly means to live as a Self-actualized Sagittarius. Many successful Sagittarians have done it through the physical/animal (i.e. sports, entertainment), an equal amount through the human/spiritual (i.e. spirituality, religion). I am of the latter cohort; my spiritual advising practice being my mode of Free-Willing.

I feel that I am almost there. I was recently laid off from a position that began to become increasingly oppressive. I was thankful for the dismissal. The company I worked for engaged in some downsizing and me and another worker within my department were let go. Our positions were “no longer needed” is what we were told. I knew I was at the end before the lay off occurred so I wasn’t dismayed. I had been circulating my resume for a few months prior.

Unfortunately, I am still not in a financial position to do what I love 24/7 so I had to transition into another job. I went on a few interviews prior to finding my current job, received a few job offers, but none of them seemed to be the right fit. The Sun and Mercury were transiting my house of career (10th house)  at the time so I knew that I was primed to get something quickly. I also knew that I had some cosmic leeway in terms of being able to sift through the job offers that seemed too confining. After doing a 2nd job spell (the first spell producing a job offer within 3 days, but I ended up declining due to the incompatible energy present at the company), I ended up choosing to work for a small private school doing basic accounting work. It’s a 2-person department including myself. I am the assistant to the Controller. The icing on the cake is that it’s a part-time position, working 27.5 hours a week. “30 hours a week or less” was one of the conditions of my job spell. The pay is decent and administration is laid back and flexible. The private school is in an affluent area. It is within a mountainous community peppered with spacious 4-car garage, southwestern style homes. My short commute is scenic with expansive vistas of brick red rock which provide the backdrop for that nook of the valley. It’s a perfect set up for my Sagittarian nature. My job’s surrounding environment exudes wealth, expansiveness, and abundance. Paradise Valley, Arizona is right outside of Phoenix, but once you enter the small city, it feels like you’re  being transported into a mystical time and space. I call it “Bedrock” as in The Flintstones cartoon. I’m sure that a lot of Arizona natives take Paradise Valley for granted, but since I’m a transplant from the East Coast, even 9 years after my sojourn, the desert landscape still takes my breath away. The part-time hours challenge me to aim higher and expand as far as my business is concerned.

I’m taking a risk by accepting this part-time job, but I also have several ways of earning money. I’m at a cross roads right now astrologically and January will be a pivotal month with transiting Pluto in Capricorn landing on my natal Moon  and transiting Saturn landing on my Neptune and Sun in Sagittarius. I’m toying around with the idea of leasing some part-time office space. I was toying around with the idea of doing some area swap meets, but the cards said ‘meh” so that arrow will remain in my quiver.

If you have been following my blog for some time you will know by now that I detest the whole 9 to 5, better, 9 to 6 paradigm. I would think that most Sagittarians do. Perhaps a Sagittarius could find happiness in a 9 to 6 with high pay, full benefits and plenty of freedom and flexibility. However, those kinds of jobs are hard to come by. This archer right here needs to do her own thing ultimately, 24/7. Now that I’m 40 and  the ticking of my entrepreneurial clock can no longer be ignored, I must be willing to take bigger risks for the chance of bigger returns. The worst that can happen is that I would have to succumb to full time employment if my business ideas do not work out. Right now, that is not even an option though.

Time to pull back that bow and aim for the brightest star and if I should miss the 1st or even 2nd time around, I’ll still have plenty of arrows. Sagittarius has an endless supply.

31 Days of Horror: A Compilation of My Favorite Horror Films. Day 29: Rosemary’s Baby

Rosemary's Baby poster

Rosemary’s Baby (1968)

Why I Love It:

  • It’s based on the book, Rosemary’s Baby by Ira Levin. The film stays almost 100% true to the book.
  • It’s a movie about a young woman name Rosemary played by Mia Farrow, who becomes pregnant with Satan’s son after moving into an apartment building inhabited by a satanic witch coven. Guy Woodhouse is her actor husband and he sets Rosemary up to be the vessel for the devil’s baby in exchange for fame and notoriety.
  • This old couple, the Castavets are the leaders of the satanic coven which is why Rosemary does not suspect them of any harmful intent in the beginning.
  • This movie contains some grains of truth since there have been numerous stories of entertainers selling their souls for fame. There are also satanic secret societies that exist among the very wealthy and influential.
  • The apartment building is actually the Dakota in Manhattan, NYC–the location of John Lennon’s murder.
  • Roman Polanski wrote and directed the film. Polanski is a shady character who’s wife was Sharon Tate, one of the victims of the Manson murders. Polanski has also been accused of sodomizing an underage girl. I think Polanski belongs to one of these satanic secret societies. The Manson murders occurred in 1969, one year after Rosemary’s Baby was released. Sharon Tate was pregnant with Polanski’s baby at the time she was killed. Coincidence?
  • This movie does not contain any blood, gore or explicit violence, but it is very scary nonetheless. The film is quiet, subtle and tastefully done.
  • The beginning song featuring Mia Farrow is scary in and of itself. It’s both eerie and pretty with a tinge of sadness. “La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, — la, la” The font used for the beginning credits is very romantic, very sixties, and it fits well with the music.
  • The makeup used to make Rosemary appear anemic and emaciated was superb and her short pixie haircut adds to the creep factor. It almost makes her appear to be a member of a cult.
  • Guy, Rosemary’s narcissistic husband played by John Cassavetes is very convincing in his role. He is the ultimate prick. He’s selfish, egocentric, emotionally detached, and hyper-materialistic. You can tell from the very start of the film that he’s not even really into Rosemary.
  • Roman and Minnie the geriatric coven leaders are creepy as hell. I can’t get enough of Minnie, played by Ruth Gordon. She’s a riot. They chose the perfect woman for that role. Roman is a detestable sort that gives off this air of superiority that makes your stomach turn.
  • Hutch, Rosemary’s senior friend is my favorite character in the film due to his extensive knowledge of the occult and the history of the Bramford, the apartment building where it all goes down. Hutch tries to dissuade Rosemary and Guy from moving in. I swear Hutch was a Sagittarius. Rosemary would have been a Pisces, and Guy, a Capricorn.
  • Rosemary’s baby is due in June of 1966–that’s 6-6-6.
  • The acting is stellar, the movie progresses at a nice pace, and the set designs are perfect.
  • The scene where Rosemary and Guy go to the Castavets for dinner. The Catavets apartment is dark and Gothic.
  • The scene where Rosemary has the dream about the Catholic school and Minnie’s voice which can be heard through the wall, blends in with the dream.
  • The scene where Rosemary is ritually raped by Satan who apparently possesses Guy. This is one of the scariest scenes in the film because there’s no mistaking at this point what these old folks are up to. “This is not a dream, this is really happening!” says Rosemary as she partially awakes from her drug-induced stupor.
  • The scene where Rosemary eats the raw steak. She didn’t even season it. The horror!
  • The scene where Rosemary eats the raw chicken liver.
  • The party scene where Rosemary’s friends hold an intervention for her due to her sickly appearance and persistent pain.
  • The scene where Rosemary creates the anagram using Scrabble tiles.
  • The scene where Dr. Hill, played by Charles Grodin betrays Rosemary by phoning Guy and Dr. Sapirstein. “Unspeakable… unspeakable!”
  • Tannis Root. Tannis Root was placed in a charm and given to Rosemary. She later finds out that it is used by witches in their rituals.
  • The final scene where Rosemary confronts the coven and is paralyzed with terror when she sees her baby for the first time. “What have you done to him? What have you done to his eyes, you maniacs!”
  • The discordant trumpet tune that plays when Rosemary first lays eyes on the devil baby. That sound is terrifying.
  • This movie was released in 1968, which marked the height of the counter culture/hippie movement. This was a very dark time period and this film reflects this tumultuous era expertly despite the years in the film being ’65 and ’66.

Ego Trip Up

thCAXR204JOne of the hardest things about being a Sagittarius is the propensity to be overzealous. The saying “fools rush in” is so apropos to my current situation. I made a foolish decision on impulse a few weeks ago and now it has come back to haunt me. Oh how I wish I could turn back the hands of time on this one. Regret however is as futile as worry. Both will prevent you from moving forward.

So now I must work to rectify this situation if it can even be salvaged at this point. First things first: I must move beyond the regret, shame, and embarrassment. I am allowed to make mistakes and I’m learning from this one because I don’t ever want to relive such an experience again.

My ego is the primary cause of this blunder. I was already aware that my ego has no place in my spiritual work. When I do allow my ego to take the reins I lose. It may not be this way for others on the Path, but it’s been this way for me—always. My Saturn is in Leo, the sign of the ego and Saturn is the planet that metes out punishment. My karma is wrapped up in my ego orientation so whenever I give my power over to the ego instant karma ensues. I could blame it on my recent transits, Jupiter opposition my Sun and Neptune, Neptune making a quincunx to my Saturn and the whole Uranian moxie  thing (Saturn and Venus conjunct Uranus, Solar Arc Uranus conjunct my natal Sun). I can tell myself that my conservative and cautious Capricorn Moon called out from work that fateful day. In actuality however, I should have known better. When I act on behalf of my ego I often get spanked and that’s what happened today—on my birthday.

I take this as a hard lesson in humility and patience. In my attempt to control the outcome of a situation I lost control of my Self. Now I sit here in a state of bewilderment not knowing exactly how to proceed from here. In the process of trying to accomplish a personal goal I lost sight of my spiritual ethos.

In true Sagittarian fashion I have already picked myself up, dusted myself off and I am ready to embody the spirit of the Chariot. Now that the illusory fog has cleared and I have sobered up from being in an emotional stupor I can view this situation from another vantage point. I acted in desperation which should never be the case for a person on the Path. Desperate times call for delicate, not desperate measures. I see this clearly now.
