Kanye Keeps the Krazy Coming

Kanye

After reading some of the latest tweets of the one and only Kanye West, aka Yeezy, I was inspired to analyze his natal chart. Firstly, Kanye West’s birth date alone provides a gateway into his crazy world. Born when the Sun was skipping through Gemini and  on the 8th day, Kanye can’t help but to speak his frenetic mind in an attempt to further his ambitions. 8 is the number of Saturn according to Chaldean numerology. People born on the 8th are often extremely ambitious, business-oriented, and drawn to high positions in life. With Kanye being a Gemini, the energy of the number 8 is channeled into a variety of pursuits from music production to fashion design. 8 people have a tremendous ability to attract large sums of money via industry or government. Career is everything to 8 people and they are willing to work hard to get to the top of their field. Kanye is no exception. However, the number 8 is one of destiny and with it comes a heavy dose of karma that cannot be escaped in the present incarnation. 8 can bring one to tremendous heights in terms of status and wealth, but when the wheel turns downward, there’s not much that can be done to mitigate the destined misfortune. Kanye West may certainly be experiencing the downside of his destiny at the moment. Here are some of his recent tweets:

I write this to you my brothers while still 53 million dollars in personal debt… Please pray we overcome… This is my true heart…

Relationship Compatibility: Start with Thyself

black men are not the problem to black women today

When it comes to relationships most people want to achieve the social ideal which is to enter into a marriage or a lifelong commitment. When it comes to determining relationship compatibility it’s important to establish what kind of relationship person you are. Being aware of your relationship needs can save you a great deal of heartache and pain. One of the best ways to discover your ideal relationship dynamic is to get a natal chart interpretation.

I do not believe in the notion that everyone is relationship-oriented nor do I believe that everyone is destined to enter into a long-term fulfilling relationship. I also do not believe in the common assertion that there is someone for everyone. Some people are destined to go through life as a single person due to where they are at on the spectrum of spiritual evolution. On the other hand, others are destined to experience the bond that comes with marriage or a life partnership. This does not mean that the latter is more spiritually evolved than the former, however. It all boils down to what is needed for a particular individual’s spiritual evolution.

Either a person is relationship-oriented or he/she is not. According to my definition, a relationship-oriented person will be able to remain in one relationship for an extended period of time—usually spanning over 7 years. I designate 7 years as the baseline since it reflects the 7-year cycle of Saturn (28 years/4), the planet of time, commitment, responsibility and longevity. Thus, if a person can remain in one relationship for 7 or more years you can generally consider that person to be relationship-oriented. Keep in mind that when I refer to the term “relationship-oriented”, I am referring to a long-term, harmonious and monogamous commitment or marriage.

Certain astrological configurations can determine whether a person will be relationship-oriented (in the traditional, long-term monogamous sense) or not. For instance one or more of the following aspects may be present in a person’s chart who is NOT relationship-oriented:

Sun conjunct Uranus

Moon square Sun

Moon opposition Saturn

Moon square Pluto

Moon square Uranus

Venus square Saturn

Venus square Uranus

Venus conjunct Uranus

Mars square Venus

Mars opposition Venus

Usually, people with these aspects will still try to go against their own grain, attempting to fit a square peg into a round hole even if it’s just about keeping up with the Jones’s. These are the kinds of people who you will find in multiple short-term relationships that usually last no longer than 3 years. Their relationships are often not clearly defined and they may be filled with a great deal of turmoil. You may find that this kind of person falls in and out of love very easily. They may also not give much prior thought when it comes to choosing a mate, but they may also bemoan the fact that true love eludes them. They do not realize that the relationship model that works for some people is not designed to work for them. Perhaps, they have been told by ex-partners that they are self-absorbed, inconsiderate and afraid of commitment. For some this may be true, but for others they may simply be misunderstood.

Some individuals who have some of these astrological aspects are very self-aware and consciously make it a point not to become too attached. For example, I know of a man who is 55 years old, has never been married and does not have any kids. This man has even said that he could go another 10 years before he settles down with one woman. He has Moon opposition Saturn, Venus square Mars, Sun conjunct Uranus and Moon semisquare Sun in his natal chart. His brother tells him that he is destined to be a perpetual bachelor. Any woman who tries to subjugate this kind of man will end up becoming bald from pulling her hair out in frustration.

If a woman is aware that she is not relationship-oriented she may be met with criticism if she chooses to proclaim this truth. In this present day society it is far more acceptable for a man to be perpetually single than a woman. If a woman tells her friends or family members that she does not want to be in a long-term relationship she is met with sighs and comments like “you’ll find someone, don’t give up” “you just haven’t found the right one” or “your guy is out there somewhere”. Women either face pressure or pity when it comes to being single for more than 5 years straight.

It appears that more people—especially men are waking up to the reality that a marriage or life partnership is not the ideal for everyone. It would seem that the most heartache and pain occurs when one person who is relationship-oriented couples up with a person who is not. The problem is that the person who is not relationship-oriented is usually unaware that they are wired this way so they blame the other person and go in search of someone new only to wind up in the same lonely predicament. However, loneliness no longer becomes this looming threat once the person acknowledges that they are not relationship-oriented. Better choices in terms of truly compatible potential mates can then be made.

So much drama could be prevented if people knew what kind of relationship-type person they were before attempting to commit to another. Self-awareness is the first step in creating fulfilling relationships—whether they are short or long in duration.

Eight Things Skeptics of Astrology Don’t Get

Or the most common arguments skeptics use when they try to poke holes in it

Astrology is an incredibly ancient art, but there is at least one method of seeking The Truth that is older: doubting things. As long as there has been astrology, there have been those who didn’t (or didn’t want to) believe that it works, or could work, or could in fact have any usefulness whatsoever. For about that same amount of time, astrologers have faced most of the same objections repackaged into different forms.

If you are a person who uses astrology to make your life a better, happier, and more meaningful place… or even if you’re just open to the idea… take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the most common arguments skeptics use when they try to poke holes in it. Then, next time someone tries to make you feel foolish about it; you’ll be able to provoke some real thought.

THE OBJECTION: “There are really 13 Signs, not 12, because of the constellation Ophiuchus.”
THE RESPONSE: “That’s not what ‘Signs’ are.”

The whole Ophiuchus thing got a lot of press a couple of years ago, when a news story hit claiming that the 13th constellation in the Zodiac (Ophiuchus) meant you weren’t really a Virgo anymore, or whatever. You might be surprised to know that long before there was even a distinction between Astronomy and Astrology, we knew about this.

When astrologers refer to “Signs,” they are actually referring to a system that divides the sky into 12 equal sections that do in fact roughly correspond with 12 constellations, which is where those Signs get their names. But the Signs are not entirely dependent on those constellations. If that were the case, “Pisces” would take up a much larger chunk of the calendar than “Cancer,” which (visually) is a much smaller constellation. This also covers the whole argument about how The Signs keep moving over time against the backdrop of the stars — which is called “precession” — thus if you’re a Taurus you’re “really” an Aries.

THE OBJECTION: “Astrology doesn’t line up with any known force, like gravity or electromagnetism, so how can the planets influence us?”
THE RESPONSE: “Take a pill.”

People have been taking acetylsalicylic acid (most commonly known as Aspirin) for a long time now to get rid of pain and inflammation. Long before Aspirin was developed, people used a very similar molecule — salicin — for the same purposes. Its use dates all the way back through known history, in the form of things like willow bark tea or wintergreen. However, it wasn’t until the 1970s that the actual physiological mechanism by which salicin works was clearly pinned down. Not knowing how a thing works doesn’t mean that it doesn’t work.

THE OBJECTION: “How can 1/12th of the people on Earth all be having exactly the same kind of day?
THE RESPONSE: “Obviously, they aren’t.”

“Sun Signs” are the great double-edged sword of modern astrology. On the one hand, everyone knows their birthday and can look up their “Sign,” and can see certain personality traits of that Sign that line up with their own. Astrology, like humans, is a lot more complex than just that. Most people get into astrology because a birthday is easy to look up… but how many people know how to find their Moon Sign or Mars Sign or Jupiter Sign, which all have a bearing on your life and personality too?

If your parents were alcoholics, that doesn’t mean you automatically become one too. If your first business went bankrupt, it doesn’t mean subsequent ventures will fail too. And if you’re a Scorpio, no… you’re not always seeking revenge against someone.

THE OBJECTION: “Astrologers are just making money off of the gullible!”
THE RESPONSE: “Got any stock tips?”

The argument that something is a scam just because someone makes money off of it is an interesting one. In fact it can be used to dismiss the validity of pretty much anything a person can make a living at. “Drugs don’t work — pharmaceutical companies are just exploiting the fears of the sick!” “I’m still depressed — psychiatry is a scam!” “It rained at the company picnic… meteorology is a fraud!” and “I pay my investment adviser plenty, and I’m STILL not a billionaire!” all come immediately to mind.

Okay: maybe there’s some validity to that last argument. Long term stock predictions have been demonstrated time and again to usually be about as accurate as throwing darts at the Stock market page and choosing your investments that way. Also: believe me, there are a LOT of ways to make a living that pay better than being an astrologer… like being an investment adviser, for example.

THE OBJECTION: “Other planets have been discovered since Astrology began, so how can that old Astrology still be accurate?”
THE RESPONSE: “I have a bone to pick with you.”

This is one of my favorite objections to Astrology, because it’s one of the most fun to pick apart. Long before medicine determined how cells differentiate into different body parts, medicine still managed to figure out that there are different body parts. Yes, (shockingly!) thousands of years ago healers could tell the difference between a broken fibula and an infected wound, and they knew which one to put in a splint and which one to plaster herbs on. This, despite not having college dark degrees. Likewise, the roles of the Sun and the Moon in the birth chart remain the same, even though we now have Uranus and Neptune to work with.

THE OBJECTION: “Where’s your proof that Astrology works?”
THE RESPONSE: “Can I borrow a cup of Dark Matter?”

Astrology has been used successfully for thousands of years, and it’s only relatively recently that it has fallen so out of favor with the intelligentsia. Of course, science is an incredibly good and useful thing… but it’s not every idea that gets sufficient funding to properly test and experiment upon. Also: a lot of ideas that mainstream science “believes” in have not been demonstrated properly yet anyway. Billions of dollars in research salaries and scientific instruments have gone into finding out what “dark matter” is — the mysterious force/substance that explains how much of the Universe appears to work — and yet so far we haven’t found any. That doesn’t mean the Physics Department of your local University is filled with con artists.

THE OBJECTION: “Isn’t Astrology just another form of bigotry?”
THE RESPONSE: “Sure… if you’re a bigot.”

Yes, there are people out there who will say things like “don’t date him, he’s an Aquarius and they’re unfaithful” or “I’d never hire a Gemini because they’re too scattered” or “don’t get a dog unless it’s a Virgo, otherwise it’ll be too messy” and so on. That sort of thing isn’t astrology’s fault… it’s how people use it to back up their own biases. The same impulses that make people look down their nose at others based on ethnicity or religion or handedness or belief in astrology or whatever can just as easily be twisted around into astrological terms. Having said that: Yes, Virgo dogs are usually fairly easy to housebreak, in my experience.
