Venus in Aquarius: Kaleidoscopic Love

Venus in Aquarius 2

Venus is currently soaring through Aquarius. Venus in Aquarius is an edgy, cool, progressive female who prefers solid friendship to a suffocating committed relationship. This is not to say that Aquarian Venus is noncommittal, she just doesn’t want it to feel that way. She is fiercely independent and prone to rebellion if faced with too much restriction. The best way to keep Venus in Aquarius happy is to give her plenty of autonomy to make changes at a moment’s notice and to respect the fact that she will have a throng of friends and admirers–both male and female. It’s no sense harboring feelings of jealousy when it comes to Venus in Aquarius. She’s a natural magnet when it comes to making new acquaintances and she’s quite the social butterfly. Her social circle is akin to a kaleidoscope; full of colorful and dynamic types.

In a marriage or long-term commitment Venus in Aquarius has a need to run the show. A lot of times it is either her way or no way. The good thing is Venus in Aquarius tends to attract the kind of partners who have no problem submitting to her indomitable will. Any partner of Aquarian Venus will also need to wear a thick skin since she won’t hesitate to tell you the hardcore truth. She’s not emotionally needy and she’s not really concerned with the sentimental. Sometimes Venus in Aquarius may become so uncomfortable with her emotions that she resorts to humor or goof ball antics to keep the atmosphere light and carefree. She is not one for a lot of mushy doting or displays of affection. What she wants is sincerity and authenticity. Venus in Aquarius does however have a huge sense of entitlement and does not do well with the word “No” when she is on the receiving end. If it’s something that she wants and her partner is not providing it, she will take a circuitous route to get it. Loyalty is another weakness of Aquarian Venus. This is due to her shunning of systems of hierarchy and tradition. Don’t expect her to put you or anyone else on a pedestal. She believes that her friends deserve just as much time and attention as her partner/spouse.

Sexually, Aquarius is the sign of the freak, so Venus in this sign may have various tricks up her sleeve. The vibrator and other sex toys are very Venus in Aquarius for instance. Since Aquarian Venus is very tolerant of that which deviates from the norm, she is prone to bisexuality, homosexuality, and entering poly-amorous unions. Even if her sexual orientation is bone-straight, she will most likely be very accepting of alternative lifestyles.

In terms of personal style, Venus in Aquarius prefers looks that are cutting edge, progressive and even futuristic. She doesn’t follow trends, she is a trendsetter. She is attracted to bright colors and pastels, abstract patterns, and strategically placed rips and tears. For instance fashion trends such a ripped and acid wash jeans, torn tees, platform shoes, and unisex clothing are the epitome of Venus in Aquarius. She likes to be radically different than the masses and her appearance may even reveal her activist nature. PETA and the whole “I’d rather go naked than wear fur” campaign is certainly a Venus in Aquarius construct. Venus in Aquarius is drawn to technological gadgets that  enhance beauty such as state of the art make up tools. She will frequent Sephora, Ulta and the like to keep her arsenal of beauty implements well stocked. She sees makeup as a means of physical evolution. When it comes to hairstyles Venus in Aquarius can go through frequent changes. She is likely to dye her hair on a whim and she is drawn to colors such as platinum blond or maybe even a funky blue. Venus in Aquarius likes short, androgynous hair cuts, spiky tresses and asymmetrical coifs. The shaving one side of the head trend? Yes, that’s Aquarian Venus.

Book Project: The Transit Cookbook

writer_woman_beach

For years I have struggled regarding the subject matter of my first published book. I have finally made a decision. My first published work will be in the genre of Astrology. The theme is planetary transits. Here are some reasons for coming to this decision:

  • A new, fresh perspective on planetary transits is long overdue.
  • I’m not completely satisfied with the transit books on the market.
  • The Astrology world needs a transit book that can be applied to more real world situations and circumstances.
  • I have yet to find a comprehensive and clear book on transits that include all of the transits of Chiron and the North Node as well as planetary contacts with natal Chiron and the Nodes.
  • Most if not all books on planetary transits do not include the minor aspects such as the semisquare, quincunx and sesquisquare. I will include these important aspects in my transit book.
  • Transits are in the realm of Predictive Astrology which is one of my specializations and I’m always looking for ways to improve my technique.
  • I need an extensive go-to reference book on planetary transits that reads more like a cookbook rather than a theoretical treatise.
  • I will use my own experience with transits as well as the experiences of others when compiling the entries for this book.

The last bullet point brings me to this invitation. All good academic books require extensive research and empirical evidence in order for the claims contained in the work to be substantiated. I am extending an invitation to anyone who is interested in participating in my research study on planetary transits. Here’s what you need to do:

  • Send me your birth information via email to Karma3675@aol.com. You do not have to provide your name. The birth information must include: date of birth, location (city and state), and the time of birth. You must know your birth time to be included in this research study. On the subject line write: “Transits Research Study”.
  • Upon receipt of your birth information, I will send you a graphic of your natal chart along with a computerized natal chart interpretation report. This will be confirmation that you have been accepted into this study.
  • I will send you a 2nd email with 4 questionnaire forms attached (1 for each week).
  • You will need to document your feelings, moods, what took place, any good or bad events, opportunities, challenges or problems, etc. over the course of 4 weeks.
  • You will complete the daily questionnaire and send your responses by the following Sunday of each week. You will be sent a total of 4 questionnaires, 1 for each week of the study.
  • Upon completion of the 4-week study, you will receive a $20 gift certificate to be used towards Tarot and Astrology readings featured on my Etsy shop (Readings by Rahbinah).
  • You agree to have your data included in the book. All participants will remain anonymous.

I am excited about this literary project and I anticipate that it will be approximately a year in the making. My goal is to have this book published by early 2017. Thank you in advance to all who are willing to participate and assist me with this major endeavor.

Venus in Scorpio: Creamy Espresso

Venus in Scorpio 4

Venus has been immersed in Scorpio for some time now so it’s important that I get this post in before the Scorpion releases her from its nasty little claws. Venus is a little uncomfortable in this intense watery sign because of its raw, power-seeking, and all-consuming nature.  Venus in Scorpio is like adding Madagascar vanilla-infused cream to deep, dark, bold espresso. She’s bound to get totally consumed by what is most appealing and that which supplies the most power whether it is love, vocation or recreation.

It’s either all or nothing in relationships. You either love hard or you don’t love at all should be Venus in Scorpio’s motto. Rarely does one find Venus in Scorpio without some form of partner. She really does not like going it alone, albeit she is more than capable of doing so. People are inexplicably drawn to Venus in Scorpio so she has many opportunities to mate. Sexually, she can be well-versed in a multitude of erotic techniques. However, her responses may be tightly under her control. This is where Venus can either become the dominatrix or willing submissive when taken to extremes.

Venus in Scorpio possesses a natural talent for getting others to invest in her success and well-being. Venus in Scorpio is the wife who becomes wealthy through marriage and/or divorce. She’s a good money manager and others entrust her with their nest eggs.

In terms of fashion, Venus in Scorpio needs to make bold statements through her apparel. Dark colors are preferred to pastels. Black, rich reds, wines and sultry browns dominate her wardrobe. Hairstyles change with the seasons and her emotional landscapes. Venus in Scorpio is certainly not afraid to cut her substantial locks. When she goes through a break up, economic downturn, or some other critical event, her hairstyle will change accordingly. There’s always an edgy element to her style. Venus in Scorpio also has a tendency to adorn herself with tattoos and piercings as a way to express her intense persona.

Transit Talk: Venus is Twirling Through Libra

Ralph Lauren Black Label Spring RTW Collection 2012 (1)

Venus is currently twirling through Libra, one of the signs that she rules so of course she’s in her element right now. Venus in Libra craves love, peace and harmony. She detests that which is crude, crass and offensive. Beauty and symmetry get her creative juices flowing. In relationships she places a high value on fairness, equality and reciprocation. Venus in Libra has the tendency to be a people-pleaser and will often place her partner’s needs ahead of her own.

Venus in Libra needs art, music, and beautiful surroundings in order to feel at ease. Ugly and dilapidated conditions get her down. In terms of personal style she aims for a classic, well-tailored, yet, unpretentious look. Makeup and jewelry are usually very tasteful and understated. The classy jumpsuit was probably a Venus in Libra invention because it accentuates the hips, elongates the legs, and provides a symmetrical, streamlined look. Eyebrows are usually a big deal for Libra due to an element of symmetry.

Sexually, Venus in Libra can be a partner who is eager to please, gentle in approach, and very much into mental stimulation. Reading erotic literature and candid talks about sex are almost as good as doing it.

Uncertainty Can Be a Good Thing

11405182-road-ahead-unclear-green-freeway-sign-representing-uncertainty-in-financial-business

As a Tarot Reader and Astrologer, I have the privilege and ability to be able to divine future events. I have no qualms about doing it for others, but when it comes to my own life, there are times when uncertainty can be a good thing. I’m sure other Tarot Readers and Divination Specialists can relate to what I am talking about. There are plans, goals, wishes, and objectives that you want to see through to the very end without having knowledge of the outcome. For instance, I applied for a small business loan this week and now I am waiting to hear back from the finance company to see if my application is approved. I have a vague idea of when I will hear back from my loan representative, but I am not really sure how this will all pan out. Now I can easily consult the cards, but in this case I’d rather remain ignorant of what’s to come. Why spoil all the fun by knowing in advance? Well, actually to find out that I was not approved would not be any fun at all, but even with that, I’d rather know later than sooner.

I must admit that this period of uncertainty that I am traversing is creating some anxiety within me, but still not enough for me to reach for those cards. I do have a little peace of mind in that I can see what is coming down the pike for me astrologically by looking at my transits and progressions. That’s all I need to know for now.

I also, believe that the Universe has a system of checks and balances set up when it comes to doing divination on the self. One cannot possibly know every aspect of his or her future and I don’t believe that it’s meant for us to know. If complete foreknowledge of every life situation were a possibility, the playing field would be severely imbalanced giving some of us god-like powers. I mean, if you were able to know every detail of your future, why bother even getting out of bed every morning? Some of the future may be revealed to those who practice divination prior to its manifestation, but a large portion of it will remain largely unknown so that we may learn the lessons necessary for our spiritual evolution. What is a test if you already have access to the answer key? What is the purpose of faith when you are already aware of what’s to come?

Some things are just better left unknown until their manifestation in the material world. I’m patiently waiting despite having an arsenal of divinatory tools at my disposal.

Balls to the Wall Ya’ll!

Pluto

Milestone: Pluto is on my Ascendant today. Woo-hoo!! I feel brand new!!! This is a once in a lifetime transit, but it is going to hit up my Ascendant 5 times between now and 2014. Balls to the Wall ya’ll!!

Do you know how the term “balls to the wall” originated? This is one of my favorite sayings.

To push to the limit, go all out, full speed.
A very colorful phrase, one needs to be careful when using “balls to the wall”. Although its real origin is very benign, most people assume it is a reference to testicles.
In fact it is from fighter planes. The “balls” are knobs atop the plane’s throttle control. Pushing the throttle all the way forward, to the wall of the cockpit, is to apply full throttle.
If you would like a natal chart reading or a forecast email me at Karma3675@aol.com

Ego Trip Up

thCAXR204JOne of the hardest things about being a Sagittarius is the propensity to be overzealous. The saying “fools rush in” is so apropos to my current situation. I made a foolish decision on impulse a few weeks ago and now it has come back to haunt me. Oh how I wish I could turn back the hands of time on this one. Regret however is as futile as worry. Both will prevent you from moving forward.

So now I must work to rectify this situation if it can even be salvaged at this point. First things first: I must move beyond the regret, shame, and embarrassment. I am allowed to make mistakes and I’m learning from this one because I don’t ever want to relive such an experience again.

My ego is the primary cause of this blunder. I was already aware that my ego has no place in my spiritual work. When I do allow my ego to take the reins I lose. It may not be this way for others on the Path, but it’s been this way for me—always. My Saturn is in Leo, the sign of the ego and Saturn is the planet that metes out punishment. My karma is wrapped up in my ego orientation so whenever I give my power over to the ego instant karma ensues. I could blame it on my recent transits, Jupiter opposition my Sun and Neptune, Neptune making a quincunx to my Saturn and the whole Uranian moxie  thing (Saturn and Venus conjunct Uranus, Solar Arc Uranus conjunct my natal Sun). I can tell myself that my conservative and cautious Capricorn Moon called out from work that fateful day. In actuality however, I should have known better. When I act on behalf of my ego I often get spanked and that’s what happened today—on my birthday.

I take this as a hard lesson in humility and patience. In my attempt to control the outcome of a situation I lost control of my Self. Now I sit here in a state of bewilderment not knowing exactly how to proceed from here. In the process of trying to accomplish a personal goal I lost sight of my spiritual ethos.

In true Sagittarian fashion I have already picked myself up, dusted myself off and I am ready to embody the spirit of the Chariot. Now that the illusory fog has cleared and I have sobered up from being in an emotional stupor I can view this situation from another vantage point. I acted in desperation which should never be the case for a person on the Path. Desperate times call for delicate, not desperate measures. I see this clearly now.

NAMASTE

Uranian Moxie

It’s funny how a few transits can usher in radical change—especially when Uranus is in the mix. Saturn and Venus have conjoined with my natal Uranus in just 7 days. As a result, I have undergone some significant change especially in the area of personal relationships. When a planet or one of the lights (Sun, Moon) interacts with Uranus, things can come to an abrupt halt followed by an exciting new beginning. Sometimes this exciting new beginning precedes the ending of the existing situation prompting a quick demise of the old. This is what is occurring in my life right now. Venus landing on Uranus in its most literal sense can deal with ending an old relationship and starting something new. Uranus is the planet of separatism, but also extreme magnetism.

Uranus in the planet of truth so it makes sense that it has little tolerance for bullshit. Uranus can smell a line of crap from a mile away—especially when in the sign of Scorpio, of which my natal Uranus is. I have just entered the sowing phase of a new relationship which is radically different than the one I just ended. This possibility of a new love has blindsided me for I like to think of myself as being highly independent and not in need of a partner (my natal Uranus is conjunct my Midheaven and square to Saturn in the 7th). In fact, I was blindsided by the relationship I just ended when it was in the sowing phase. Back then, transiting Mars had landed on my Uranus. The current situation, I did not see coming. That’s how Uranus works. It’s the planet of surprise, shock, and the unexpected. Uranus will also give a person balls of steel to do something bold; an urge that the person might try to suppress normally. Subtlety is not in Uranus’s vocabulary. Transits involving Uranus will cause the native to throw caution to the wind and attempt to break any barriers standing in the way of the will to be, do, or say whatever he or she intends without fear of derision or reprisal. It’s the “my way or the highway” planet.

So time will tell (Uranus has no use for time, that’s Saturn’s domain) if the seeds of this potential union will sprout. Most likely I’ll know for sure by la fin de semana.

In the meantime, I’ll play the role of the hermit, patiently waiting for the aftermath of my Uranian moxie. With Venus now in my 10th house, love and relationship becomes my ambition. There’s a good chance that seeds will grow into something beautiful.

On another note, Venus landing on my Uranus also brought the suprise of unexpected money. I won $100 from playing the lottery. Surprise, surprise!
